This year has been crazy and the past few months even busier! Fall & Halloween just snuck up on me this year, so there aren't as many new cards as usual... though I do think that there are some super cute ones. I hope I can get my Holiday cards designed up and uploaded in a more timelier manner than the Fall cards!!! Thanks for looking and don't forget to tell your friends about MemoriesToo.com!!!

The winds of change are blowing... and blowing FAST!

I have been so blessed to have grown so fast in such a short amount of time. It's been wonderful and stressful and HARD at the same time. Hard finding the balance between my family and my business and also hard in learning what to do & what not to do, to offer, etc. In a little over a year and a half, I've shipped all over the world and also been asked to do a little commercial work. I've done 4 magazine ads, designed 2 spice labels for a company, as well as other small commercial jobs. Considering that I'm completely self-taught, I consider my little "business" to be successful. I never could have imagined that the best was yet to come...

About a month ago, I was contacted about submitting a quote on doing a national catalog job for a children's clothing company. I had no idea how to submit a COMMERCIAL CATALOG quote! How do I price it? What if I'm too high? What if I can't do it! I was a NERVOUS wreck to say the least! About a week or so after submitting my quote, they asked me to redesign their current logo to make it more fun & funky. I'd done that many times in my head b/c I was familar with the company and always thought their logo needed help, lol! A few hours later, it was done and my 1st draft submitted... the next morning... THEY LOVED IT!!!!

Fast forward to a week later... I was told that I GOT THE CATALOG JOB!!!!! My logo design had proven that I could design what they envisioned for their company. I am BEYOND excited & scared at the same time.

The winds of change are blowing... Memories Too will still be open, but I will be cutting back on work during the 2 months of catalog work, twice a year. Proofing times may take longer, so please plan accordingly.

Vacation Date/ Store Closed...7.21.08 to 8.10.08

Hi.... My family and I are going to the white sandy beaches of Orange Beach, Al. We live about 60 miles away and make the "day" trip often, but with a 3 year old who loves the sand, we decided to break away for a week and "get away from it all." I'll be gone from 8/2 until 8/9. The cut off date for orders needing to be completed before we leave is 7/18. This is to ensure that all orders are completed before I leave. If you place an order AFTER the 18th, it won't be taken care of until I return. If you HAVE to have a certain design and can't wait, please email me to check my availability :)

Hi! Thanks for visiting my 1st blog! Let me start by telling you a little about myself. My name is Summerlyn Gwin and I'm the owner/designer for MemoriesToo.com. I went into business in 2006 after much prodding from friends & family to start charging for the designs that I was doing for free often. I was hesitant because I'm completely self -taught. Two Years later, I've got a business that is more than a part-time job! I'm so blessed to be able to do something that I love, while staying home with my son, who is 3 years old.
